Grocery List Drop down that shows ingredients
Hello everyone

I'm trying to make a master grocery list where I can choose a list of meals from a drop down list, then once I select that drop down a list of associated ingredients show up below the item. Basically this way I can simply use the drop down list to select what meals I want for the week, after doing so the spreadsheet automatically displays a list of ingredients that I would need to buy.

Currently I have Sheet 1 filled with data that has a meal name, then the ingredients directly below it. I've created a drop down list that shows the options of only the meal names, which was rather simple. The hard part I'm encountering is how do I have it setup so that once I choose a meal from the drop down, the ingredients show up?

To further complicate this, I'm really hoping to have it so that the ingredients that do show up are listed, but then only have 1 cell or space in between the next set of Meal / ingredients. The reason for this is so I can save space and not have to format my sheet every time I wish to print out my list and go to the store.

So basically, on sheet 1 (all data) I have:

Meal Name:
Nachos

Chips
Green Onions
Cilantro
Nacho Cheese
Beans
etc.

On sheet two I would like a drop down (several) that when I select Nachos from the list, all of those ingredients automatically show up. For better looks and to save space, as I mentioned above, it would be GREAT if I could some how have it so that after the list of ingredients, the next meal / ingredients starts right away. An example:

(Dropdown)
Nachos
Chips
Green Onions
Cilantro
Nacho Cheese
Beans
etc.
{SPACE}
Hamburgers
Ingredient 1
Ingredient 2
etc.

Otherwise I imagine I would need to have  a large amount of cells that were statically setup to show what ingredients are needed. Another example would be one of my meals has 14 ingredients. If I choose one with only 2 or 3, I would LOVE for those 2 or 3 to show, then to immediately show the next meal + ingredients rather than have a bunch of blank cells.

Thank you so much! I'm at work so I'm sorry if this question is a little disjointed. I need to retype this when I get home haha

Hi Yogi,

Thanks for the response! I really appretiate it. And very good point, I was at work trying to leave so I had quickly typed up the post. I should have thought to attach the spreadsheet. Anyways, below is the link for the sheet. Let me know if it doesn't work as I've never really linked a sheet before.

I haven't really done anything other than list on Sheet1 the items that will be the data (Menu name + Ingredients).
