How do I insert an image from Google Drive into a spreadsheet cell?
I agree. This is a pretty basic-seeming feature that should exist. Otherwise, why am I storing images in drive?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What I have found is that even if the image to be inserted is stored in Google Drive, we still need to fetch its URL -- I do that by opening the file with Google Docs and then reading the image URL -- in the following illustration I have presented the essential steps for the task

Formula question
I found a formula to convert from a decimal to feet/inches, but I am looking to do the reverse.  What I enter in different cells is

Feet54
2.25

I didn't understand what Adam Pelot is trying to show us with
Feet54
2.25
in any event following is a solution to the problem

i've got three colums

one is the price - another is the VAT - the third is the net cost

is there a way I can make a function for the third column so that
the value of the first column will have the value of the second coumn
subtracted from it and the result automatically appear in third column?
---
ok - am working with a google spreadsheet (via chromebook)

I want to have an algorithm that deducts amount of column B from column A to give a net value in C

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is a very simple problem ... however since phil_d1111 was having a lot of difficulty with this I thought it was best to do an illustration ... and
just to avoid any ambiguity about Column designations, I have used FieldA, FieldB, and FieldC in the following illustration

Sort & filter a column based on a criteria in another column
n a sheet, column A has names of people & column B has amount they have received till date. In column C i want the names in column A to be sorted alphabetically with the condition that only those names appear who have received amount more than 0 as indicated in column B.

I have created a mock sheet for easy understanding.

I have used the formula =sort(unique(A2:A12)), which is obviously wrong since it is not taking any reference from column B.

Thanks!

Changing Text to Numbers

Hello! I am trying to convert text to a binary number. The text is being auto-inputted from a Google Form. The possible answers are $87, $0 or blank. I want to create a formula that adds a "1" for either $87 or $0 and a "0" for anything left blank. I need this formula to keep moving down as forms are submitted.

In the end, I want to calculate the number of "1's" I have in each column which will let me know how many tests I need to order. I would like the total #'s right under the heading of the tests (in row 1 right under row 2 (if possible).

The spreadsheet is located here...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
in the following solution I have stats in colums to the left of the Form data so that it will facilitate adding more test to the right indifinitely subject of course to the limit on maximum number of columns
