Is there a formula to filter and eliminate duplicate data across multiple columns?
I am a teacher that is trying to design a spreadsheet to help assess student writing. The spreadsheet consists of seven columns:
(A -Timestap); (B-Student Name); (C - content); (D- organization); (E-word choice); (F-sentence structure); (G-conventions)
When data is added to the spreadsheet through a form, it looks something like this:
7/5/2011 1:31:31 Blake Including a conclusion
7/5/2011 1:09:41 Justin Establishing a purpose
7/5/2011 9:45:35 Justin Establishing a purpose, Narrowing down topic, Including details
7/4/2011 23:07:33 Katie Establishing a purpose, Sequencing ideas, Including million dollar words
I would like to have a formula that will take a students' name from column B and match it with data entries pertaining to that student from columns C through G. However, I am hoping not have repeated information. Thus, the output for Justin (from the sample data above) would look something like:
Justin Establishing a purpose, Narrowing down topic, Including details
Rather than:
Justin Establishing a purpose, Establishing a purpose, Narrowing down topic, Including details
