I want to create a pie chart that displays individual words from one column
Newb

I have a spreadsheet that consists of responses about product feature requests. One column is responses. This column is random words with no format, so they could be anything.

I want to make a pie chart that shows how much each individual word shows up. So, for example, if the word "BMP" shows up a large number of times it will take a big slice in the chart.

I assume I have to enter specific data into Chart Editor>Start>Data (Select Rangers) field but I don't know where to find the options, or if it needs to be a longer formula. I thought it would just be like - words in column D, but it's not quite that simple.

Looked for a LONG time for an answer but haven't found one.

Thanks!

Displaying a filtered sheet in a google site.
Yogi, this sounds very close to what I'm trying to do, could you go into some more detail?

I'm trying to create a weekly sign up sheet for a club. The idea is that I keep tabs on who is currently qualifying for the club and note the as 'club member' in a field of the spreadsheet. What I'd like is for this to then fill the list on the next sheet with all the names of people in the club. So if people drop out or get added in, it dynamically changes the sign up sheet, and I can print it out each week for signatures. Can you explain the process a little bit more?

Cheers,
Sean.

Hi Yogi,

OK, this is roughly the idea.

As people sign up, I number them from 1-20 (the maximum size of the club). I then ask them to confirm their membership after supplying some more information. If they opt out at this point, I renumber them NA#, and change the numbering below. The number, and the confirmed status, then triggers the B column formula to say 'Yes' or 'No' on them being a member.

What I want to do in the second sheet is to have it auto-fill all those still listed as members, keeping in mind this may be less than 20. I then print that off and get them to sign it at the club.

How do I transpose part of a spreadsheet with grouped columns?
Here is the sheet I have as a result of a Google Form...(Columns)

A, B, C, D, E, ..... AF, AG, AH, AI           all in one spreadsheet row.  An unknown number of rows will be created.

Here is what I need for each row from above...

A, B, C, D, E, F
A, B, C, G, H, I
A, B, C, J, K, L
...
A, B, C, AG, AH, AI
and then repeat for the next form row.

Seems straight forward but haven't found a way to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.
Tom

Sheet2 A1 has the query that Kishan has suggested but it is not working.
the "Hoped for Result" sheet shows what I hope to get from the input of the form (Sheet1) and it should continue as new lines are added to the form
If there is no entry for Photograph-Title then no row should be created because the photographers can enter between 1 and 10 photos into the competition.

Thank you for your help.

How do you list unique values of a list and count occurrences of each through a SINGLE formula?
Hi!

I have a set of names in column A3:A500, and many of them are duplicates... Is it possible to have a SINGLE formula (preferably QUERY one) that could both enlist unique names in Column B & no. of their occurrence in Column C without having to bother to add another formula or column in an already data-heavy spreadsheet?

I tried to use Pivot in Query but only got errors.

Thanks!

ARRAYFUNCTION not counting on new row form insert
I have read multiple posts and find myself, sometimes, more confused than when I started. So I'll just ask.
I have a spreadsheet that is populated with form results. There are multiple columns in which the responses are either 'Yes' or 'No'. I want to count the 'Yes' responses in a range and show that number in column E, which is simple =COUNTIF(L2:BO2,"Yes"); however, I would like to see column E be populated when I open the spreadsheet after a new submission. As it is, I am populating the column myself each time (selecting the cell in the previous row and dragging down).
I have read several posts that indicate that I am to use the ARRAYFUNCTION and have wrapped my formula in it like so: =ARRAYFORMULA(COUNTIF(L2:BO2,"Yes")) but a new row submission returns just a blank cell.
Clearly I am doing something wrong. Can anybody help out by explaining what I might do to get it right? Thank you, in advance!
---

And here are the answers to the A, B, C questions:

A) I would like cell E2 to give a total "Yes" count for cell range G2:K2 and cell F2 to give a total "Yes" count for range L2:O2
B) Sheet1, E2, F2
C) The expected result would be that whenever a new row is added the appropriate total would be calculated for the cells in cols E and F

I hope that make sense?
