Weight Tracker Help and Ideas
Hi All,

Trying to put together a Weight Tracker "sheet" that will show progress as the weeks go by so weight and inches loss can be tracked weekly.

  • I want the spreadsheet to utilise Green for weight loss and Red for weight gain as background colour and this would show on the sheet automatically upon data entry in column "C" and "D". This would be reflected on the weight and inches measurement from the week previous any ideas on how to get a formula to successfully do this?
I have shared the doc below and comments can be left.

yogi_Customized Use Of Filter Function Where No Selection Of A Parameter (left blank) Means All Choices

Filtering with multiple criteria
Hi there,
Tanks in advance for any help.

I'm trying to create a filtered version of a database, with multiple conditions.

The thing is, not all the entries of my database necessarily have all its fields filled. When a cell is empty, the entire entry stays off the filter, even if it meets all the criteria.
What I'm trying to do is what the D-functions do well: when I create a criteria array, the blank cells are ignored, as if there's no condition for that field.

Here is an example document I created:

The first sheet is the data itself.
The second one is the filter I'm trying to create.
The third one is an example, using a D-function: I want to do exactly what I did with this DCOUNT function, only that I don't want just the number of entries, but the whole entries themselves.

Hope someone can help me.

Cheers -- Tiago

I don't think it is a question regarding Filtering With Multiple Criteria ... it has to do with customizing the use of FILTER function so that no parameter selection (leaving it blank) means all values for that parameter

yogi_Start New ID Number In Column K From The Beginning On Cell Value Change In Column J

Starting new ID numberfrom the beginning when the cell value change
I have a query function that generates the small table like this (Column A):

ColA  ColB
Text1  100
Text1  101
Text1  102
Text1  103
Text2  100
Text2  101
Text2  102
Text3  100
Text3  101
Text4  100
Text4  101
Text4  102
Text4  103
Text4  104
Text4  105
Text4  106
etc..

I would need to find an arrayformula or something else that would generate the ID number to column B. This ID number should start from the 100 every time when the text changed in column A. When I change some value in this Query, these ID numbers should be generate again because texts will change.

Of course I can use IF function, but I dont want to use it. Then I would need to delete some of them, when the column length is smaller.

Any ideas?

Alex

Hi Yogi,

In the last sheet is the problem. Cells are marked with yellow.

How to generate ID numbers to column K? This number is needed when there is text in column J. IF its empty, no number. The same name is mentioned only once in one "group", because Query will order them. I need numbering starting from 100 and then 101,102,103 etc. The numbering needs to start from the beginning (100) always when the name changed in column J.

Cheers!

Aleksi

Dear YogiAnand

Thank you for your revert.

I have shared a link for a sheet. under that tab called Date Calculation.

Also on another topic i'm trying to merge multiple documents(7Sheets) into one sheet. From the advise i got i have entered the formulas into the master Sheet. Can you see if I have done so correctly.

I really appreciate your advise

How do I put quotes w/in quotes in a cell formula? (')
'm getting a value error because of the single quote in the name O'Connor.

query(importrange("key","Current Students!A2:G997"); "select Col4,Col5,Col6,Col7 where Col6 contains 'Mary O'Connor' ")

Is there an equivalent to the html ' that I can insert in this formula?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think it is a question on how to insert ' in names ... but rather how to QUERY data that has names containing ' (which is a character that is used in the select option of QUERY operations)

Query a range - group by column 1 and sum column 2
Hiya All

I cant work out how to create a overview for a simple data file I have.

I need to be able to group by the "store" and then count(sum i think) the values in "order total". More stores could be added, so having this part dynamic would be great.

Here is an example of the data and the desired result.

Thanks in advance

Will

Find the following day of the week
I have searched a bit but I am unable to find a solution....

I am inputting a date (in this case the last day of the month) and want the next cell to provide me the date of the first Thursday of the following month.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Edit:  That should read the last Thursday of the following month
