Counting a Date Range

Column A is the date

Column B returns the information

I want column B to tell me how many dates in Column A happened within the last week, month etc.

so for example:

20/02/2016

19/02/2016

10/02/2016

18/02/2016

11/02/2016

Column B should tell me 3 with the above example since 3 dates happened within the last 7 days.
