Highlight First Instance Of Date In Column Using Conditional Formatting?
I would like to highlight the first instance of a date in a column using conditional formatting, but I can for the life of me find the answer to this question.

Basically, in column A of my Google sheet, I have a list of dates and some repeat many times. I would like Sheets to highlight the first instance of every date. So it would be something like this (bold represents a highlighted cell):

1/1/2015
1/2/2015
1/2/2015
1/2/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/5/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015
1/6/2015

If anyone could help me figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated. And if it can't be done with conditional formatting, any direction as to how to achieve this would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

How to count cells with a particular word since a cell with another different word
So imagine you have a row with cells filled with x. Only sometimes it has to be interuped by an /.
I was wondering if there was any way to use a function to count the amount of cells filled with an x since the last cell with an /.

---
Depends really
I would like to use the sheets to keep track of habits i'd like to do every day. So every evening I need to check a habit with an x, but if I don't complete it that day, It would be marked with an /. But this way keeping track of how many times I completed the habit in a row, since the last time I didn't(so a cell filled with an /), is really hard. So I was wondering if there was an automatic way to count the cells filled with x since the last non completed day.

I hope the files makes it clearer

Auto Sort after Date
Hi Team,

have a Sheet where we are adding and processing data in.

would like to get the sheet to sort the date everyday at midnight, depending on the "K" if it is "Processed" it should be moved to the buttom of the sheet automatically

the sheet have the data there needs to be moved with in  A2 to N2

and goes to 1000 in total atm.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
in the proposed solution presentedd below the data is pulled form 'Ark1' and sorted in such a way that the rows with the status of 'Processed' is pushed all the way to the bottom of the sheet

How can I create a screen to find a sum by filtering two columns at once?
Attached is a mock up of my sheet.

I would like to create a code that checks the total hours billed to the same client each day.  So the filter must first find the same date (column A) then find all the entries for each client (Column C) then check the total number of hours billed to that client for that day (in Column F).  THEN, ideally, it would create a warning if the total was more than 6 hours.

So the code has to be able to first check the date, then add up the total hours billed for all 5 clients simultaneously, and flag it if any of the totals for that day is above 6 hours.

I hope I'm being clear. I'm thinking this is possible but involves matrix/array/transposing type coding that is way beyond my understanding. Thanks for any help.

COUNT IF (en función de otra celda) (IF COUNT (depending on another cell))
Hi I have a table:

Column 1 Column 2
Blue 7
Red 23
Red 2
Red 9
Blue 3
Blue 0

QUESTION 1: I want to make a COUNTA function of the value in column 1 (it = blue). That is, IF COLUMN 1 COLUMN = blue then COUNT 2. The result should be the end for this example = 3. What is the function?

QUESTION 2: Same as above but only make a COUNT COLUMN 2 if in addition the value of IS DIFFERENT FROM COLUMN 2 0. The result for the above example would be = 2.

Thanks in advance.

Drop down menu shows words but reflects a number
Ive been looking for some time now and cant seem to find (or even know how to look) for an answer. I want to create a drop down menu in google spreadsheets that shows a name. The names value, however, will be a number. When that name is selected, the number is activated in an equation somewhere to reflect a change in that equation. An example:

Bar of soap:$8
Shampoo:$32
Face Wash:$44
(expensive stuff!)

When you drop down the menu for bar of soap and another drop down is quantity, would reflect the change in the equation. but the drop down would show the name of the product, not the number. And a side question: I get errors when I validate numbers when they have been rounded up with a price. Is there a way to prevent those errors? I cant wait until you brilliant forum readers can help me!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no direct way to accomplish what you want -- even if we were to use Range Names -- these can not begin with numbers ...
however, I can accomplish the intent of what you are trying to accomplish as presented in the following
